AAA had better be ready for the coming weekend, for there will be some changes.
Four of the top 10 teams are involved in games with each other and there will be some shuffling.
The only changes from last week to this saw Lakeside push ahead from seventh to fifth, nudging LaGrange back to seventh. It seems as though the Vikings’ opening loss to Clarkston, 13-7, has been totally forgotten by everyone except Clarkston.
Hardaway, one of the surprises of AAA, will find out just how tough it is Friday night when the Hawks meet Macon-Central in Macon’s Porter Stadium. Hardaway is No. 4; Macon-Central is No. 2.
The other AAA matchup has No. 3 Valdosta hosting No. 6 Moultrie. Moultrie won the 1-AAA championship last year by beating Valdosta the third time in 14 years that a team other than Valdosta has won the region title.
Class AA changed more this week than any other classification. Gainesville perennial playoff entry, dropped out after losing a game in six. Americus replaced the Red Elephants at No. 10.
No. 4 Southwest Atlanta edged by No. 8 Northside-Atlanta, and dropped the latter back to No. 9. Druid Hills moved up to No. 8.
