We are proud to announce Chaz Glover as the inaugural recipient of the Jimmy Rakestraw Memorial Scholarship.
Chaz represents exactly what this scholarship was created to honor: discipline, dedication, and the ability to lead both on and off the field.
A student-athlete at Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, Georgia, Chaz has built an impressive resume across academics, athletics, and leadership. He maintains a 4.0 GPA while actively participating in multiple sports and organizations, showing a level of commitment that truly stands out.
On the field, Chaz is a key contributor to the varsity football team, playing both offense and defense for three years. He also competes in baseball as a corner infielder and continues to develop his skills through travel team play. His strength and work ethic are reflected in his performance metrics, including a 315-pound bench press and a 415-pound squat.
Beyond athletics, Chaz serves as the 4A representative on the GHSA SAAC Committee, demonstrating leadership and a willingness to represent his peers at a higher level. He is also a dedicated member of the Beta Club, further reinforcing his commitment to academic excellence and community involvement.
Chaz’s ability to balance a demanding athletic schedule with top-tier academic performance speaks to his discipline and time management, qualities that will serve him well as he prepares for the next level.
