DeKalb County high school football openers are still one week away but the matches between Avondale and Chamblee, Briarcliff and Druid Hills, along with Columbia’s meeting with Loganville, shape up as the top attractions.
The game with the most at stake involves arch-rivals Druid Hills and Briarcliff. Both eleven appear set for the 7:30 pm kick-off at Adams Stadium and the eleven that emerges on top could use the contest as a stepping stone to a successful season. Briarcliff, with a 4-6-0 record last year, will be trying for 2 in a row as the Barons won 27 to 7 last year. The Druid Hills Red Devils recorded a 4-4-2 season last year.
