Rehoboth Presbyterian Church recently defeated Glen Haven Baptist to capture the DeKalb Parks and Recreation Church softball championship.

Both Rehoboth and Glen Haven entered the tournament with perfect records, but Rehoboth prevailed with convincing 21-1 and 12-1 victories to secure the title.

Team members included manager James Brown, Allen Stanton, Don Bryant, Jimmy Rakestraw, Jimmy Grizzle, Haynes Garner, Tony Clower, Charles Watson, Steve Cash, Mike Tomasovich, Doug Anderson, Larry Rakestraw, Billy Townsend, Mike Freeman, James Griffin, and Wayne Price.

The championship run added another memorable achievement to the growing legacy surrounding Jim Rakestraw and the community built around athletics in DeKalb County.
